What the passing of time does for Mellisa Ann's magical belief's
Many years later now, Mellisa is a Mother herself now her children are grown. One day one of her Grand Daughters comes over to visit with her. When she and her now adult Daughter Kathryn are talking, they go outside to see what the little one Tina is up to, and Mellisa in absolute amazement and wonderment looks across the yard at Tina who seems to be talking to herself. Kathryn walks over to her and asks her who are you talking to my dear? All these little fairies around me of course Momma can't you see them? Kathryn said as a tear rolled down her face, no I'v never been able to but I know that some people do have this power when they are very young your Grandma had it too. Tina ran to her Grandma, saying in excitement I can see your Fairie friends Grandma and they told me they have never stopped caring for you and always miss you too. They say they will see you again in your afterlife, were you will be able to see and talk to them once again just like when you were young. Mellisa Ann so happy now, with tears of happiness rolling down her face, hugged her precious grandchild and thanked her so very much for sharing what her long lost friends had told her, and asked that Tina tell them for her. Tell them I have never stopped believing all these years not entirely and that I very much look forward to seeing and talking with then again in my afterlife. Tina told them and both Mellisa Ann and the fairies were very happy to have this wonderful event to look forward to one day.

What it takes for Mellisa Ann's magic to begin to fad
Her Father could see this was a loosing battle for now, and just settled with the thought that's it's just a phase she's growing through. This too would pass, this he explained to her Grandparents they still seemed worried however. When friends of the family would visit they had to explain that no Mellisa Ann was not talking to her self out side but her invisible fairies that she thought to be real, and were her friends now. This embarrassed her Grandparents and some other family members as well. Her parents just thought it something very cute she would one day soon grow out of. Yes, she did grow out of it but this came as a total shock and surprise to Mellisa Ann. Who on the first day of there Spring weather had missed her tiny friends outside all winter long, yet when she went looking for them in there usual places they were no where to be found. She had the sense somehow that they were there with her all around her waiting for her to see them again and "talk" with them. Just as she had for the whole Spring and Summer season's the year before. In a panicked voice she screamed to her Mother, there gone where are they now!! Crying and sobbing now her heart breaking over the loss of her friends. Her Mother looked at her with kind and understanding eyes and said sweetly, they are still here with you like they always have been and always will be. You just see them with your grown up eyes now, and not those of an over imagining little child does. Your magic fairies have grown with you into the real things now, the butterfly's, dragonfly's, no see Em's, bumble bees. They were always this way for all of us, that's just why it was so hard for us to understand you so much, we never got to see them as fairies like you could. This is always the only way we could ever see them at all, this is how most all people have always seen them. You were a gifted and special child to have been given this gift, that the rest of us only had the joy to share through your eyes alone. It was wonderful while it lased my dear, but those days have passed now we must let your little friends go forever and say goodbye. Just be happy with your sweet memories of them my child. She shook her head and sadly said, I will never say goodbye, and one day they will come back through another child's eyes and then again I will share this magic with my kindred spirit and my long lost friends the fairies will welcome me back with open arms once more. Her Mother was speechless at this, but if it made her child feel better, so be it.
What Started out as Simple Child's play Became so much more
When Mellisa Ann was just a small child she used to believe in fairies. She really believed with all her mind, heart, and spirit they were very real. Nobody could ever convince her other wise. She would run out in her Grandparents yard, right after it had been mowed and all the tiny little fairies would fly in large groups all around her. As she ran through the yards. They were her only friends at times, being a very sheltered child and with mostly adults around. Her little brother always with her Grandpa it seemed now. So, her little fairies were her only and best friends. Her Mother called them her imaginary friends, since they weren't real. This made Mellisa Ann so mad with her Mother every time! Can't you see them, they run and play with me all the time! They would try calmly to explain to Mellisa Ann just what her fairies really were, she just got more mad, upset, and hurt by all of this though. You see magic had entered into Mellisa Ann's world and it couldn't be explained away so easily. She had older cousins, who had learned magic tricks and showed Mellisa Ann a whole other realm of existence she had not considered before. She fell in love with this, the idea of items vanishing before her eyes and reappearing somewhere else, or just never reappearing again at all. To be sent to another place or time through magic spells. This mixed with her Mothers bed time stories of fairy tales and folk lore, started the ball rolling for the very visually imaginative little child. Her fairies came in all different shapes and sizes and colors just like people do, plus now there were some she felt so close too they were on a first name basis. Mellisa Ann did say she could talk with her fairies as well. Not in a speaking way, but more of a telepathy through her mind they talked to her and her them into there minds. She did this every day for weeks while saying she was doing her chores outside watering plants and or feeding the chickens. Really she was always with her fairies this whole entire time, well news of this neglect of chores got back to Grandpa. He put his foot down about this whole fairies none sense, she was too old to believe such things any more and needed to learn some responsibilities rather than so much make believe. Her Dad came to her that afternoon and said, listen Mellisa Ann you are a big girl now you are over six years old. Going to school other kids will tease you and call you bad names, they might not even want to ever play with you and you will be left all alone. Your Mother meant well by sharing her stories, and so did your cousin with the magic tricks, but you can't think this is real it's just for fun and just a game it's not what big girls do anymore. He could see he was not getting through to her at all so be must take more drastic measures to make her see the truth. He took one of her so called fairies in his hands and said if this were a real fairy like you believe it to be, then it's magic would protect it from harm and I couldn't hurt it at all, right. Mellisa Ann was still pretending to ignore her Father's insults. When all of the sudden he slapped his hands around her fairy crushing it in his hands. Then he showed her it's lifeless body and said look it's nothing but what in known as the common no see om it's just a bug Melissa Ann and that's all it ever was or ever will be. At the sight of her Father doing this she panicked and screamed no!! You have killed her, your a murder! If you don't believe in there magic then and only then are you able to harm them, look what you have done you unbeliever!
